Even at high speeds, the Delite5 maintains contact with the ground and keeps you fully in control – thanks to Riese & Müller Control Technology with front wheel suspension, rear swing arm and co-sprung luggage carrier. Thanks to its sporty frame geometry, optimum crank bearing height with short crank arms and dropper seatpost, you can now ride safely on every terrain.

Don't worry about the route – just your destination. The power you need is supplied by the powerful mid-mounted motor and a removable 800 Wh battery integrated in the down tube. Oiling and changing the chain is so yesterday: the Delite5 is fitted with a smooth-running and low-maintenance carbon belt drive.

The frame of the Delite5 is manufactured in Portugal and is made of 30% recycled aluminium. A cover reliably protects the drive and suspension elements from dirt and spray. And the frame lock inconspicuously fitted on the rear stay secures your bike when you are not riding.

The Pinion E-Drive System combines a powerful electric motor, proven gearbox technology and electronic gear shifting to form a perfectly coordinated package.

The benefits include low maintenance, no significant wear and efficient shifting performance.

The Pinion Motor/Gear Unit

Combining what really belongs together: the Pinion E-Drive System consists of a powerful mid-mounted motor and electronic 12-speed gears. This unit sits above the bottom bracket in a seamlessly coordinated manner and is in no way inferior to conventional drivetrains in terms of size and weight. Internal sensors continuously measure motor speed, input torque, bike speed, pedalling rate and gearshift lever shaft and crank arm position for the most natural riding experience possible. Apart from a quick oil change after 10,000 kilometres, the drive is maintenance-free: no gears that need to be adjusted, no drivetrain to be cleaned and components that are reliably protected from water and dirt.

The barely noticeable shifting process takes place in fractions of a second – even at full load and when stationary. This is ensured by the electronic switching system with high-resolution torque, cadence (pedalling rate) sensors, and fine gearing. The bike automatically adapts motor assistance to the gear and detects when it needs to shift: precisely, quickly and fully automatically, depending on the setting selected. Regardless of external influences, the gears do not wear out or become misaligned. Based on automotive gearbox technology, Pinion uses spur gear teeth with two gear sets connected in tandem. Its unsurpassed bandwidth of 600% and gear ratio result from the two coordinated partial gearboxes with different gear pairs.

The Pinion E-Drive System offers four levels of assistance: ECO is designed for maximum range, while FLY fully utilises the massive power of the system at all times. FLOW and FLEX stages progressively adjust the level of assistance to the riding situation and terrain. A sensitive start-up aid and an extra boost at the touch of a button complete the package.
